Sting and Cast of THE LAST SHIP Record for Broadway's CAROLS FOR A CURE, VOL. 16...

16-time Grammy Award-winner Sting will be featured on the annual holiday music CD, Broadway's Carols for a Cure, Vol. 16. Singing with the cast of "The Last Ship," ­­­­and playing acoustic guitar accompanied by a full band, Sting has created an original version of "Soul Cake." The new musical "The Last Ship" features an original score and lyrics by Sting and marks his debut as a Broadway composer. "The Last Ship" is inspired by the English seaside town of Wallsend where Sting was born and raised, and where life revolved around the local shipyard. Stars, casts and musicians from the current Broadway line-up are completing recording now for the 2014 Broadway's Carols for a Cure, Volume 16. Sting Among Rock & Roll Hall of Fame Nominees...
The punk trio Green Day, the short-lived British band The Smiths, "Lean on Me" singer Bill Withers and Sting are among the first-time nominees for enshrinement in the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame. Six of the 15 nominees for the hall's Class of 2015 announced Thursday are on the ballot for the first time. More than 700 artists and other members of the music community will vote on the inductees, with the results announced in December. Other first-time nominees are the abrasive rockers Nine Inch Nails and the late blues guitarist Stevie Ray Vaughan. To be eligible, a musician had to release a recording in 1989 or earlier...

Sting to Perform with No Doubt at Global Citizen Festival...
Sting will join No Doubt for a special collaboration at the Global Citizen Festival, which returns to the Great Lawn in New York's Central Park on Sept. 27. Details on the "must see" performance remain under tight wraps, though celebrated live event and television producer Ken Ehrlich has offered some insight into how the team-up came to be. Sting & Paul Simon: On Stage Together - 2nd Concerts in London & Amsterdam Announced...
Following swift sell-outs in both cities, second shows have been confirmed in London on April 16 at the O2 Arena and in Amsterdam on April 18 at the Ziggo Dome.
